Theme for the Month: Read Alouds/Book Discussions
Summer time is the perfect time to catch up on things you got behind in during the school year, but it is also a great time to work on the fun things that don’t always fit into your normal school day like art, read alouds, field trips, or unit studies. This month we are going to focus on read aloud & book discussions!
Book recommendation for parents: The Read-Aloud Family by Sarah Mackenzie
Book discussion resources: Total Language Plus from Christianbook.com (these work great even if you just pull the questions out and ask those after you read each day!)
Bushel & Peck “Read with Me” books – these break the story down into 20 min sections for you to read each day and include word definitions throughout and questions to ask right in the book after each section!
